TERMS & CONDITIONS OF RENTAL
Mascot Car Rental provides car rental services in Kos, with pick-up and drop-off available at locations such as Kos Airport, Kos Town, Kos Port and Kos Marina, subject to availability and the following rental terms.
Reservations: All reservations are made by vehicle category and not by a specific model. In the event that a confirmed reservation cannot be fulfilled, Mascot reserves the right to provide the customer with a vehicle of a higher category at no extra charge.
Driver: The minimum driver age is 23 years, and the driver must have held a valid driving licence for at least one (1) year.
Payment Method: Payment may be made by bank transfer to IBAN: GR8001103830000038300365368 or by debit / credit card (Visa or MasterCard). Card payments are not processed automatically online through the website, but are reviewed, approved and processed by the company. If payment on arrival is selected, a minimum deposit of €50 is required to secure the reservation. This amount forms part of the total rental cost and is not an additional charge.
Security Deposit / Pre-authorisation: The company does not place a hold and does not carry out any pre-authorisation on the customer’s credit or debit card for the excess amount.
Cancellations / Changes: In the event of a customer no-show, provided that the vehicle has been reserved and held exclusively for that booking, any amount paid, including any deposit, shall be non-refundable. Any changes to the reservation dates are subject to availability and become valid only after confirmation by the company.
The minimum rental period is 2 days.
Pick-up / Drop-off: Mascot offers pick-up and drop-off at different locations on the island, including Kos Airport, Kos Town, Kos Port and Kos Marina, as well as vice versa, subject to availability. An additional charge of €30 applies for pick-up or drop-off to / from the airport.
Operating Hours: Operating hours are 08:00 – 21:00. A surcharge of €25 applies for service outside operating hours.
Additional Driver: The charge for an additional driver is €5 per day.
Child Seat: The charge for a child seat is €5 per day.
Fuel Policy: The vehicle must be returned with the same amount of fuel as at the time of collection. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, the customer will be charged for the difference. No refund is given if the vehicle is returned with more fuel than it had at collection. The fuel policy is same to same.
Mileage: All rentals include free / unlimited kilometres.
Accident: In the event of an accident, the renter must inform both the company and the police and must provide the police accident report upon return of the vehicle. If the accident is caused by the customer’s fault, a €40 accident file administration fee will apply.
Insurance: Vehicles are insured for third-party liability in respect of material damage to third parties, excluding: a) the driver and passengers of the rented vehicle, and b) Mascot’s vehicle.
CDW - Collision Damage Waiver: All vehicles are provided with standard CDW cover. The renter is released from liability for damage to the vehicle above:
1) €750 + VAT, provided that the renter accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s rental agreement, for categories A, B, C, D and E
2) €950 + VAT for categories F and G
A necessary condition is that the vehicle is driven in accordance with the Highway Code. Damage to tyres, damage to the underside of the vehicle, and theft of personal belongings are not covered by any insurance.
SCDW - Super Collision Damage Waiver: Additional insurance cover may be purchased in order to reduce the excess. The renter is released from liability for damage to the vehicle above:
1) €120 + VAT, provided that the renter accepts and signs the special terms of the company’s rental agreement and pays €15 per day for categories A, B, C and D
2) €190 + VAT, provided that the renter accepts and signs the special terms of the company’s rental agreement and pays €20 per day for categories E and F
If, at the time of vehicle collection, the reserved vehicle cannot be delivered due to unforeseen circumstances and no equivalent category vehicle is available, the customer will be provided with a vehicle of a higher category at the price of the original reservation.

LPC – THEFT / FIRE PROTECTION:
The renter is released from liability for damage to the vehicle in the event of fire or theft, provided that the renter accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s rental agreement and pays €10 per day for categories A, B, C, D, E, F and G.
The main condition for the above is the absence of negligence (for example, leaving the vehicle unlocked).
ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE: Mascot vehicles are covered by 24-hour roadside assistance. Contact details will be provided at the station.
Long-Term Rentals: The maximum rental period is 30 days. For a longer rental period, the rental agreement must be renewed and a new contract must be issued every 30 days.
